Confession found in Prison Essay Example for Free

Admission found in Prison Essay Charles Dickens begins his story with an exceptionally light climate with him portraying a man who was sent to another country to battle for his nation and how he was sent home thus he resigned from the administration. He doesnt develop his encounters from the war by any means, which possibly could be because of disgrace or loss of character. His better half and he at that point pulled back to the bequest acquired by his significant other which at that point had a place with him, as this was the done thing in around then. After such a carefree opening the environment drops significantly as he says this is the latest night I need to live, this at that point makes the peruser need to peruse on with the inquiry in the rear of their head, why would that be the latest night he needs to live? In that equivalent passage he says I was never a courageous man, and had consistently been from my adolescence of a mystery, skeptical nature this straight away educates the peruser regarding the idea of this man, yet I discovered this abnormal that a man who has come out and said that he was never extremely bold as a kid, yet years after the fact ended up selected into the military. I talk about myself as though I had gone from the world, this showed to me that he has dealt with the way that he is going to pass on, out of the blue that might be, which fabricates expanding strain even this right off the bat in the story. The following passage clarifies the preoccupied relationship with his sibling, however the two of them wound up wedded to two sisters. At the point when I originally read his better half realized me well, I never battled with any mystery desire or nerve when she was available however that lady realized it just as I did. I never raised my eyes at such occasions yet I discovered hers fixed on me there are a couple of understanding that could be taken from this, it is possible that she was truly looking at him as they were in every others nearness or that he discovered his creative mind showing signs of improvement of him, anyway we can not make certain as I dont truly trust his judgment as the storyteller. I think the pressure increments extensively and the air turns out to be substantial when he discusses his help that his siblings spouse passed on abroad, I feared her; she frequented me considerably after her demise and this is the place I began to scrutinize his rational soundness, he is nearly saying that he can feel her eyes on him through her grave. At the point when my sibling realized that all desire for his own recuperation was past, he called my better half to his bed-side, and trusted offspring of four years of age, to her security I was interested concerning why he called his siblings spouse to his bed-side as opposed to his sibling, possibly he additionally shared the doubts that not everything was ordinary with his sibling. Maybe I conceal reality from myself, however I don't feel that when this started, I reflected to do him any wrong now I accept he is understanding that something isn't right with him and I found the strain ascending as the peruser is then considering what the man is pondering to do to the youngster, he infers that he is considering murdering the kid when he says I was under an interest which made it a benevolent a business with me to examine his slight and delicate figure and think how effectively it may be done it clearly being the slaughtering, yet with this announcement he felt no regret for what he was stating, which I discovered very strange which obviously this man is. I went through days in molding with my folding knife an unpleasant model of a vessel, which I completed and dropped in the childs way this caused me to understand that the pontoon was only a bait to get the kid to the lake, which clearly a multi year old would be totally unaware of. He now and then denies contemplating killing the youngster however goes to such lengths as to go through days making a pontoon as a bait for the kid and the way that he took down after him, crawling under specific bushes practically like if the kid sees him he will presume his activities, this again flags his propensity to turn out to be absurdly jumpy. As I peruser I got tense as the youngster was planning to play with his pontoon in the lake, and the man was getting ready to suffocate the kid. As he was going to push the youngster he saw his shadow and pivoted, this was the point at which he chose not to suffocate him, yet to cut him. I think he chose to do this in light of the fact that as the kid pivoted and saw him his moms apparition was looking from his eyes and wounded the kid spontaneously. I sat at the room windows throughout the day and watched the spot where the shocking mystery lay despite the fact that he doesnt concede this, I accept he was truly disfavored by what he had done, despite the fact that it was planned I think he was spooky by his activities and that he needs to remain and watch the spot so as nothing upsets it. He portrays his anguish when a winged animal arrived on the plot of grass he figured the flying creature would be instrumental in the disclosure. Following three days of interminable viewing of the plot of grass, two officials visited about the missing youngster on the fourth. At that point I plunked down with my seat upon the grave, I am certain he did this so as long as he was sat upon the grave nothing could be found. Later on a couple of hunting dogs came into the nursery and began hovering around the seat the man sat on the environment gets warmed as everybody is yelling at one another In sky name move! Or on the other hand you will be shredded yelled one of the officials, let them tear me appendage from appendage, Ill never leave this spot, I think this is the place the officials knew about the keeps an eye on wrongdoing, as he would prefer to get torn appendage from appendage by the two hunting dogs than surrender his position where his mystery lay. I am distant from everyone else in this insidious cell with my shrewd soul, I pass on tomorrow I think he is currently along the line of reasoning that him biting the dust would part him from his malevolent soul. I think this is on the grounds that he realizes he has the right amazing, as the youngster didnt. Hamlet, By William Shakespeare - 1990 Words

During the course of Shakespeare’s â€Å"Hamlet†, the character of young Hamlet exemplifies an often puzzling and ambivalent persona. During the play, Hamlet is often contradicting of himself. By role-playing, or self-fashioning, Hamlet is able to balance his virtues in order to stay true to himself. This is demonstrated by his decisions to act upon something, as well as his inactions to not act upon something. The obscurity of Hamlet’s mannerisms are displayed within two conflicting personas: one that is perceived as calm and rational; the other displaying utter madness and loss of control. These conflicting behaviors are revealed within Hamlet’s internal struggles—to kill those responsible for his father’s murder, or to act responsibly and virtuous, and await further proof of their guilt. Throughout the play, Hamlet teeters on the brink of insanity induced by his actions, or inactions, but never actually crosses the threshold of insanity by balancing the virtues of playing a role and self fashioning, with looking at his own sense of self to rationalize his actions throughout the play. Clarification of Hamlet’s sanity first appears in act one, by his statements and feelings expressed within his dialogue. â€Å"Seems madam? Nay, it is. I know not â€Å"seems† (1.2.76). This paper will speak about three jobs that will originate from this integrating and so three solutions for each one of these jobs. With that there will be drastic alterations. from rank construction. to pay classs. to how they will run as one force instead than different precincts. This means that they have to happen a manner of traveling about this drastic alteration. They live in Erie County were there are New York State Police. Eire County Sherriff’s. and so all the single town. small town. and metropolis constabulary sections. When they switch to Metro Police Department. they will be all one force ( with the exclusion of State Police ) . That means that constabulary officers will be allowed to traverse town lines and patrol anyplace ( with-in ground ) in Eire County. and would non hold to bespeak permission to traverse town lines. We will write a custom essay sample on Integration of the Police Force Essay Sample or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page They can salvage the constabulary section money by interrogating the sections into one. This paper will state how they will carry through this integrating with minimal troubles. This paper will speak about three jobs that will originate from this integrating and so three solutions for each one of these jobs. The first job is with all the sections being meshed into one rank construction is traveling to be messed up. The solution will be that they will merely hold one Chief of Police. but presently have a few twelve. The manner they will come up with the Chief is the individual with the best service record and who has the highest degree of senior status will be the Chief of Police. who will be at Headquarters in Buffalo. NY. Then they will hold three Deputy Chiefs. These three will be formed by the following three Chiefs with the best service record and senior status. They will be broke down into three subdivision of Erie County. One Chief will be stationed in Amherst. NY. another in Buffalo. NY. and so the 3rd and concluding Chief in Hamburg. NY. Each one of these Deputy Chiefs will hold one Police Commander and one Police Captain under them. They will make up ones mind which of the constabulary captains will take the musca volitanss. Any excess heads can travel down to Lieutenant or they will give them their pensions and they will take an early retirement with a little fillip for their grudges. All from there on down all forces will take a demotion a bulk will be demoted to Police officer. Promotions will be based on Seniority and their service record. Each Metro Police precinct will be run by a Lieutenant. The 2nd job with incorporating all the constabulary sections into one is the wage class. There will be maximal overtime of three hours a hebdomad for each officer. Each constabulary officer will work eight hours every twenty-four hours. There will merely be a one-fourth of the officers on the dark displacement compared to the twenty-four hours displacement. Without overtime this means that it is easy to maintain a low budget and salvage money which means that more officers will be employed with less cost than holding fewer officers who are on overtime. Each officers pay will reflect his or her rank in the force. All constabulary officers will be paid the same. all Sergeants will be paid the same. same with all Lieutenants. and so on. This is so we have less convulsion within our force because there will be no issues with wage persons rank. Third job with the integklration of the County and local constabulary sections is how to maintain unity. professionalism. authorization. and order within the force and in public. With the Eire County Sherriff’s. and all local constabulary sections being integrated into one we need new rigorous ordinances to be added to old 1s. First set of new Torahs are that no 1 will state degrading things to another constabulary officer or to a citizen based on gender. race. gender. age etc. Any issues whether it be in house or in public will be addressed by no 1 below the rank of Lieutenant. Anything that is either degrading to or good to anyone publically or in house based on gender or sexual penchants will non be tolerated. If it does go on it will be dealt with thoroughly and is evidences for remotion from the force. Professionalism is everything in the public constabulary force. it shows the citizens that we are a force to cover with if any offenses are committed and it tells them that we will protect them from force no affair what it is. So no vulgar linguistic communication or obscene gestures in public because it shows immatureness and sloppiness which is non what we should hold the public image us as. Each officer will be given a psych rating every two months to prove whether he or she is capable to work with in the force. If for any ground he or she is deamed non suit for responsibility the Lieutenant will read the study ( s ) and will speak to the Psychologist every bit good as the officer and will do the determination to either continue to allow the officer wo rk in the field. delegate him to desk responsibility. take a paid leave of absence for one hebdomad or to allow the officer go. A officer may non utilize his pervious sections rank or rubric to give foreman others around. so if a head is demoted to Lieutenant he may non stamp people around who are higher because that does non travel with rank construction. Any sexual torment and sexual assault will non be tolerated and any officers who are involved will be on wage leave till the job is solved. The Deputy Chief will cover personally with any sexual torment or sexual assault instances that are in house. If a officer is found to hold been wronging person. with due procedure of the jurisprudence. he or she will be let go of instantly. we will non digest this and will prosecute to the fullest extent. If a sexual torment or assault is found to hold been a prevarication so the individual who made the acquisition will be released from the force and will be arrested for a false charge. The local constabulary sections along with the Erie County Sherriff’s are shortly excessively integrated into one force. This paper has named and told how to work out three major jobs that will originate from this integrating and so three solutions for each one of these jobs. This is of import information because in the instance that a constabulary section does acquire integrated into onethere are three jobs listed with their solutions that you can utilize to repair them.

5 Sentences That Should Save the Best Until Last

5 Sentences That Should Save the Best Until Last 5 Sentences That Should Save the Best Until Last 5 Sentences That Should Save the Best Until Last By Mark Nichol English is a flexible enough language that a set of words can be ordered in any of several ways to communicate the same idea. However, in writing as in many other human endeavors just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Here are five sentences rendered more effective by positioning the most important information at the end. 1. â€Å"He had told her that his illegal drugs were actually vitamins for months.† This sentence, like many others that include a misplaced modifier, suffers because it reads as if the perpetrator had told someone that the illegal drugs in his possession were vitamins intended as nutritional supplements for the periods of days known as months, after which they were not so intended. This is a â€Å"You know what I meant† mistake, which is still a mistake. A better rendition one that appropriately positions the modifier directly after the verb it modifies places the key detail in the final position: â€Å"He had told her for months that his illegal drugs were actually vitamins.† 2. â€Å"Outdoor illicit drug markets are free of the stuff and crime bosses say they get the credit, not the government.† What is it about drugs and clumsy sentences? The latter part of the sentence implies that crime bosses say that they get one thing (the credit) and not the other (the government). What the sentence means is that crime bosses are taking credit for the absence of a substance from illicit drug markets; they, not the government, they claim, are responsible for the beneficial result. Placing the two contenders for credit in contrasting parallel, as I did in the previous sentence (and inserting a helpful comma between the two independent clauses), improves the sentence structure and clarifies the meaning: â€Å"Outdoor illicit drug markets are free of the stuff, and crime bosses say they, not the government, should get the credit.† 3. â€Å"He was a member of the team during that series but did not play due to a concussion.† â€Å"He . . . did not play due to a concussion† invites the question â€Å"Why did he play?† But the concussion is the cause of his nonparticipation in the series. The intended meaning becomes clear if the phrase â€Å"due to a concussion† is inserted as an interjection before the key fact (â€Å"he . . . did not play†), rather than confusingly appended to it: â€Å"He was a member of the team during that series but, due to a concussion, did not play.† 4. â€Å"It’s not just losing in the regular season that strengthens your core, but losing in the playoffs as well.† The correction to this sentence may seem to contradict the point of this post. Isn’t â€Å"losing in the playoffs,† rather than â€Å"losing in the regular season,† the point of the statement? Actually, as demonstrated in the previous sentence, contrasting phrases are best positioned together in the midst of a sentence. The key detail is what the two types of losing have in common: â€Å"It’s not just losing in the regular season, but losing in the playoffs as well, that strengthens your core.† 5. â€Å"The longer she stayed, the more interesting and meaningful the experience became, despite the hardships involved.† The false key, however, isn’t always best relegated to the midst of the sentence. Sometimes it’s best to get it out of the way at the beginning: â€Å"Despite the hardships involved, the longer she stayed, the more interesting and meaningful the experience became.† Want to improve your English in five minutes a day? Thomas Hobbes Article Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Thomas Hobbes - Article Example Hobbes eventually died in Hardwick in 1679 at the age of 90 after he was attacked by paralysis. He will always be remembered for his political philosophies and this indifferent way of commenting (on philosophical fronts) from others. Hobbes developed his own political analysis and philosophy, which he documented in the form of a book published in 1651 with the title of Leviathan. His arguments in the said publication were illuminating. It is so very simple in the daily happenings of a man who is a selfish and greedy organism, always ready at war with other men (organisms of his type) for his own well being and benefit. His suggestions are that people have turned very selfish in their normal way of living and they lead a unkind life towards other humans which they should not do in the first place. Everyone does not follow the path set by good men of past, which is much to his dislike. He does not like the attitude possessed by the people who follow the sovereigns as if they are Gods or more than them. Fear of death, according to him, is one such thing, which brings to our notice that makes them follow the sovereigns in any possible way they can. A worldly leader cannot in anyway represent people's attitudes; but the same according to him is happening day in day out in this world. The person having authority lets his commands rule, which Hobbes does not quite approve of in any way. His other books also suggest the same ideologies, which are there in his hit one, Leviathan. These suggested his interest in gathering some analysis on political philosophies as well as some comparisons with the ways in w hich leaders and sovereigns have lived their lives and as a consequence ruled over people. Other theorists also followed in the same fashion as Hobbes did. They studied his analyses and thus made their own in the light of what Hobbes had already said. Amongst them were included big names like J.L.Stephen. C.H.Hinnat, T. Surrell. Hobbes was not very happy with the teachings of Aristotle and remarked them as being mistake in doctrine. He ridiculed the English universities of their dull approach towards their curriculum. In reality, he owed both to Aristotle as well as the English universities because he laid the foundation of his beliefs courtesy through Aristotle and these varsities. Hobbes pays importance on the topic of virtue. According to him, virtue develops the respect amongst people so that they can live within the pre-set moral laws and follow them in conformance. Virtue provides an incentive or benefit from which the person can benefit as long as he is alive. It is an ever-lasting impression on one's personality. Thomas Hobbes suggests that the impulses that one has within him/her every now and then should be controlled so that a person's personality does not effect drastically or at other times, quite swiftly. Moral strength is the key for a person and he/she should not let loose on this very asset of his/her. Controlling desires is also an advantage that one has over other of his fellow human beings. One should never let his/her desires get the better of him/her under any circumstances whatsoever. Hobbes has been in the forefront like Locke, Kant and Mill in introducing within people the importance of virtue. They term it as of similar importance as people tie themselves to their mind and

Financial accounting theories in a real life Assignment - 1

Financial accounting theories in a real life - Assignment Example Different researchers have dissimilar views regarding financial accounting theories (McGraw-Hill, 2006). There are different types of accounting theories that can be implemented in real life scenario. One of them is the Repo 105 theory. This theory is used by many of the companies. Moreover, it needs to be mentioned that the misuse of such theories can result in negative functioning of the companies. There are many such cases where improper use of accounting theories result in complete demise of the companies. Financial regulations can play a major role in reducing such cases (Liu & Schaefer, 2011; Eisinger, 2012). The report intends to discuss the role of Repo 105 scheme in the enhanced performance and subsequent downfall of the Lehman Brothers. The report would further depict the different motives that encourage companies to manipulate their financial accounts with reference to a few well known cases. Moreover, the report also intends to illustrate the importance of financial regulations in reducing such cases. Repo 105 is an accounting trick where a company depicts a short-term loan as a part of the sales of the company. Moreover, this loan would be further used by the company to repay its liabilities. A repo agreement would include temporary transfer of assets from one party to another which would also be accompanied by an agreement of repurchase of the same assets after a particular phase of time. After a certain period of time, the transferee returns the securities to the borrowers, which in turn repays the loan with a considerable interest. It needs to be mentioned that as a part of the exchange process, one party would receive securities as guarantee for the cash loaned, while the other party would receive cash guarantee for the securities loaned. It has been observed that these agreements are widely used as well as recognised as a legal means of

Country Lovers Essay Example for Free

Country Lovers Essay The narrative elements of literature are crucial when writing a story as they are what raises the story above being a line of strung together sentences and give the story meaning. It is especially important to have a clear idea of these elements when wring short stories because, unlike novels, the writer is only given a small amount of space to get his/her point across. By reading literature and searching for these narrative elements one can get a true feeling for their importance to the story and improve their own writing. Recently I have had the pleasure of reading the short story â€Å"Country Lovers†, by Nadine Gordimer and in this paper I will explain how she used the narrative elements of plot, theme and point of view to enhance her story and make it a richer experience. The story â€Å"Country Lovers† written by Nadine Gordimer is a story about love and race. This story starts with a childhood love and grows into adulthood. â€Å"Country Lovers† is a story that deals with a forbidden love between a black woman named Thebedi and a white man whose name is Paulus. Thebedi gets pregnant by Paulus which is not allowed in the 1900’s and Paulus did not know about this pregnancy. Thebedi decides to get married after Paulus leaves for collage and the man she marries accepts the child as his own. After Paulus returns and finds out about the pregnancy the child mysteriously dies. In W. R. Clugston’s book, The Journey Into Literature he defines plot as â€Å"a dynamic element in fiction, a sequence of interrelated, conflicting actions and events that typically build to a climax and bring about a resolution† (Clugston, 2010, p. 5. 1). This is a story of a romance between a white man and a black woman who discover their love is restricted by the law, which is troublesome for them both because they love each other deeply and in the end this restriction ends in tragedy. In W. R. Clugston’s book, The Journey Into Literature, he also describes how to identify the theme in a story: â€Å"To identify a storys theme its necessary to look beyond the plot. The plot tells you what happens in a story, but the theme tells you what the story is about† (Clugston, 2010, p. 7. 1). The theme of the story helps the story evolve and come to life. The theme of this particular story is love and race and as I pointed out earlier the race part of the theme is a white man falls in love with a black woman. Even though there is so much going on in this the overall theme to this story is love, specifically a forbidden love. Now let talk about the point of view of the story â€Å"Country Lovers†. Cluston defines point of view as, â€Å"Point of view refers to who tells the story—how the action is presented to the reader. When you read a story, you are sensing everything in it through the eyes of the narrator. Its important to remember that the narrator, whether a character inside the story or one looking on from outside the action, is a voice invented by the author for the purposes of the story† (Clugston, 2010, p. 5. 1). The point of view in this story is third–person omniscient. This means that the narrator is not a character in the story and we are reading the story from the narrator’s and not the character’s view. The omniscient part of the point of view is the narrator is helping us to experience the feelings of the characters. Point of view has so much impact on the story because it gives us the feeling of the story. The article â€Å"Country Lovers† explains why the third person narrative is essential to this story: â€Å"It [†¦] used third person because then we get a neutral point of the story, and we don’t natural[y] take side[s] with one of them†( Country Lovers, 2012,). If someone writes a story in a first person you are getting everything from the character s point of view and a person reads what they see, feel, and hear. This will change the story dramatically because people don’t know if what they see is real or not. It is the character who makes people feels the way someone does. As for third person the narrator tells us what is really going on in the story. People know what the truth is and what is not. When someone gets to read a story in third person they get the whole perspective. All of the literary elements help a story come together. If someone does not have all the parts of the story such as plot, theme, tone and point of view then the story will be lacking. The plot of the story lays everything out what is going to happen, the theme of the story tells you what kind of story it is going to be, the tone determines how the story will be told (Clugston, 2010, p. 5. 3), and the point of view can change everything. These elements are all critical in turning words on a page into literature and if you take even one piece away even the great works of history would be reduced to nothing. I. B. singer said it best when he said, â€Å"A story to me means a plot where there is some surprise. Because that is how life is full of surprises† (Singer, 2001).

Electricity Policy Reform and Responsible Government in India Essay exa

With many different religious, ethnic, and social groups, the Republic of India is a unique and diverse state. Since gaining independence, India has faced a challenge of encouraging the variegated people within its borders to embrace and celebrate a common Indian identity even while nurturing their distinct cultures and traditions. This diversity is reflected throughout social and political challenges in Indian society. Although the different federal states are given a certain amount of leeway to accommodate for the population’s heterogeneity, the central government maintain a great amount of power for purpose of holding the nation together. As India has developed, one of its focuses has been the energy sector and increasing Indian citizens’ access to electricity. The government has historically carried a large influence over India’s vital electricity sector,. Electricity is a concurrent subject under the Cons titution, falling under the purview of both the central government and the states. Whether by influencing the electricity sector through private companies collaborating with the central government or acting directly through state-owned companies and bureaucracies, India has maintained a large degree of centralized control over the electricity sector. Since passing the Energy Conservation Act of 2001, the government has pursued a national policy of increasing Indian electricity independence and access. In order to meet these goals, India has used state-owned enterprises and bureaucratic institutions to maintain direct control over the sector. However, the Electricity Act of 2003 reformed India’s electricity policy, allowing for more electricity sector privatization and fewe... ...ar, Shailesh. The Day She Left Me Home Alone

The day she left me home alone. Realizing when ones childhood is beginning to fade is not an event that can be targeted at an exact time in an individual’s life. Childhood begins to vanish differently for people based on culture, age, and life experiences. My childhood started to end when I was 7 years old; the day she left me home alone. My mother had just become a single mother running from an abusive relationship with my father and had to begin life anew.My strong dependency on my mother and the illusion of being an only child, due to me being the youngest of several older brothers and sisters, made the thought of â€Å"growing up† a nightmare. Realization of my soon approaching adulthood became evident, as I had to face the difficulties of being distant from my mother, learning to connect socially with peers, taking on more self-responsibility, and the building of self-confidence. These trials and tribulations would help to lead me to a higher level of maturity and a true realization of life.Although what I endured forcefully was difficult, the most challenging would be my distancing from my mother the security that linked me to my youth. Severing the bond between a mother and child is a tough task at any given stage of life. This was especially difficult for my mother as I was her only girl and youngest child. Being a single mother and working two jobs created excessive hardship for my mother. Her constant struggle with taking me to her place of work left her with no other choice than to leave me at home. This was the first time that I had to truly cope with being away from her and it was an immense strain on my emotional state. My next challenge ensued when I had to begin spending time with my father. Several years after my parent’s separation my father later remarried became a new man, giving the judicial system the opinion that I should see my father more often. My pursuit into the new world known as my father’s house, otherwi se known to me as â€Å"hell†, forced me to spend countless weekends and summers with my new family, my step siblings and step mother. This unfamiliar change was the cause of my strong desire to remain sheltered beneath my mother’s wing but instead nature would drive me towards a more self-reliant road. Be that as it may, I would not change overnight. I still struggled to be away from my mother when it came time for school. Most children struggle with the concept of going to school. Leaving ones comfort zone and journeying into a strange new territory is of great significance in an individual’s life. Most children learn to adapt with in the first year or so. I however, was the exception to the rule.Attending public education was an adjustment of epic proportions in my young life. I struggled with the issue for several years. Every year school started I wished to be expunged from existence. My problem was not with the other children; I worked well with others. Rat her my issue was with the thought of being away from my mother. Although I got along smashingly with the other children, I did not converse very much. My close relationship with my mother led me to believe she and only she was someone I could truly convey my ideas with.I also did not speak with others because their tales of their lives at home seemed somewhat abnormal to me. Tales of brothers and sisters, close families and a home consisting of a mother and a father seemed unusual. Although I had brothers and sisters, we were distant. I knew of my father, but he and my mother did not live under the same roof. Another issue I had to face was my abnormal mother. What made her abnormal was the fact that she was a single, hard working mother. This indifference from my peers and societies opinions gave me the impression that I was an outcast.Eventually I would come to realize that I was not the only person in the world under such circumstances. Learning to open up to others caused me to realize that I wasn’t alone. Interacting with other children like myself helped me to be more social and gain greater connections with my peers. I then had the ability to deal with others, but still lacked in dealing with myself. Responsibility is an inherited trait. It is not cast upon an individual in one particular place or time. At certain stages of life, responsibility starts to become more important and has a greater affect on a person’s growth and development. From the time I could talk, my mom began teaching me the importance of responsibility. Nevertheless, my first true test came when I was left alone at home. While my mother was away, she entrusted me with the task of preparing my own food. Learning to cook for myself gave me more confidence and helped me to be less dependent on my mother. As my mother became aware of my newly responsible personality, she decided to entrust me with greater responsibilities. After moving, my mother did not want to switch me fr om the school I was attending so I remained there until the end of that school year.In the beginning, she rode the public bus and walked down the neighborhood to get me. After noticing that I could reside at home alone and care for myself my mother decided that I could handle walking down the neighborhood to meet her at the bus. Being with my peers was hard, dealing with my stepsiblings was an ordeal, and being at home alone was unimaginable. Nonetheless, the most unbearable of them all was walking alone; surrounded by strangers and an unfamiliar environment made me uneasy.Eventually, I came to realize that it was a part of life, part of being responsible and that I was growing up. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I was finally learning to deal with my several issues. The responsibilities laid upon me helped me to be more understanding of life and the ways of the world. My self-dependence began to grow as well as my self-confidence. Growing out of childhood and into adulthood does no t instantly occur; many people experience several events that transpire before they reach adulthood. In spite of that, there are always significant moments that have to pin point the beginning of one’s journey. For me this consisted of being left to fend for myself at home, learning to adapt socially with individuals amongst me and beginning to deal with real life responsibilities. These several adversities strengthened my confidence, stability, and self-reliance, as well as my outlook on the world and others. My childhood and my attachment to my mother where far from severed relatively the experience had opened to door to a new path of life, helping me to grow further from my old mind frame.
